Born and raised in western NY, Steve has an undergraduate degree in philosophy (with a focus on logic and ethics) and an upcoming graduate degree in biology (focusing on the interactions between aquatic plants and larval fish). He started the podcast partly because he felt like he needed a mental break from fisheries research. While Steve is not preparing for or editing an episode of The Field Guides, he's probably listening to other podcasts, reading manga, or hiking with a few field guides in tow.
